Short Pieces Day 2 Prompt

Hey-o all! (On an unrelated side note, does anyone know where "hey-o" comes from? Uglies? The Safe Lands trilogy? A Time to Die? Did I even spell it right?) (End unrelated side note) So I'm participating in a week of prompts and short stories. The prompt for day one can be found here . And (hopefully) I'll be putting up my short story from it later today. You can find details about the week here ! Anywho, here's the prompt I'm giving! It burned her hand, and she flung it as far away from her as she could. The word limit is 5,000 max, but it can be as short as you'd like! Have fun! Tally ho! (No worries, I know what that one's from ;)

Character Interview: Izzy

Image
So the other day, Rachael over at The Art of Writing for Him interviewed my character Liam (From my WIP Where Loyalties Lie) and today I got to interview her character Izzy from her novel Awaken the Deliverer! Picture found on Pinterest What’s your favorite color? Probably black. *grins* What is it like being the princess of Marilla? It’s definitely an interesting experience, I won’t say that it’s fun, not all of the time anyway.  What is your favorite part about being the princess of Marilla? Hmm, *squints eyes in concentration* I am going to have to say the food.  If you could spend an entire day doing anything you wanted, what would you choose to do? I would sit in my room all alone and eat cake. Or go visit with Kiera, or…*trails off* What would you say is your best trait? *flashes a grin* I think my sharpness! Your worst? Ehhh, um, probably my stubbornness.  If you had to make a guess, how would you think you’ll meet you...

Help?

Hullo everyone! So, one of the things I've heard is that people would like to see more of my writing on my blog. The thing is... Although I'm motivated to write right now, I can't for the life of me come up with an idea. So I'm putting this out here: Give me a prompt, and I'll do my best to write a story! They'll probably be flash fiction legnth, 1000 words max (though this isn't set in stone), and the prompts can be any type you want. Songs, phrases, images, throw 'em at me! :) (Just keep them clean, ok? Thanks :) Sierra

In with the New Year, Out with the Old

Annum novum faustem felicem- thus I bid thee cheer! Annum novum, faustem felicem- in the coming year! *grins* So, it's 2016. How did that happen, again? I mean, I could've sworn it was just Christmas Eve 2012 and I and my friends were discussing whether or not the world was actually going to end. (The majority of us were right ;) Anyway, time to take a look back. *trumpets blare* Let's start with some numbers, shall we? ~In April 2015, I started Flights from the Aerie ~Since then, I have participated in 7 Monday's Minute Challenges, 4 Character Encounters, and a number of blog tours and cover reveals. ~I've had 3,249 pageviews, 10 followers through Google Friend Connect, and an unknown number more by email. Shoutout to all of you- You guys are awesome!! Thank you so much!! ~In July 2015, I did Camp NaNoWriMo for the first time, and got 15,005 words. ~In November 2015, I did regular NaNoWriMo for the first time, and got to 19,843 words, than...

Merry Christmas!

Image
Today we remember 2000 years past In a manger, a child, in the light the star cast, King of all Kings, so humbly born Fulfilling the promise made by the Lord. Savior, Messiah, Redeemer, the Christ, In the hay, and the straw, and the filth and the grime. In a stable with animals all gathered around Christ Jesus was born in this Bethleham town. Rejoice all ye people, sing strong and sing loud! 'Till the streets, roads and rooftops ring with the sound. Joy to the world, the Lord is come! And blessings this Christmas to everyone. Merry Christmas everyone! I hope you all have had a wonderful day of spending time with your families and remembering our Savior's birth!

A Tale for Tuesday - Carol and the Belles

Image
Howdy all! I'm back with another Tale for Tuesday- this one a new Christmas release by Chautona Havig! (It's also International Ilyon day today, but I'll be putting my post up tomorrow.) Disclaimer: I received a free copy from the author in exchange for my honest review, which I have given. Carol and the Belles is a sweet Christmas story. Penpals since grade school (for 25 years), Carol and Michal finally get the chance to meet when Carol travels to the U.S. However, when they meet in person, they find out that neither is what the other was expecting. What I liked: I loved the language. The descriptions of things, and a lot of Carol's insights were really beautifully phrased. There are several quotes in particular where I had to read and sigh over them several times because they were just perfect. The humor. I liked the witty interactions between different people: Michal and Micaiah, Carol and Michal's friends (the "belles") :) The character...
